Painted Shield surgió como una colaboración entre Gossard y el cantante Mason Jennings, y la banda la completan el baterista Matt Chamberlain y la teclista Brittany Davis.

Su autotitulado disco debut se publicará el 27 de noviembre a través de Loosegrove Records, el sello fundado por Gossard, y ya puede preordenarse desde el sitio oficial de la banda.
